Clinical Associate Professor, Central Clinical School, Faculty of Medicine, Sydney University
She coordinates the Respiratory Failure Service which is responsible for providing non-invasive ventilation assessment, therapy and follow up for patients with acute respiratory failure. In addition, she supervises the Home Ventilation Program which assesses and manages patients requiring domiciliary ventilation for chronic respiratory insufficiency. Dr Piper has an international reputation in the area of non-invasive ventilation and been an invited speaker for many national and international scientific meetings including the ATS, ERS, APSR, Chest, World Federation of Sleep Medicine and TSANZ. She has been involved in the development and presentation of numerous educational workshops and courses related to the practical aspects of non-invasive ventilation. Dr Piper is an Associate Editor for Respirology, a peer-reviewed respiratory journal for the Asia-Pacific region.
