Acute NIV application in the hospital setting has become a growing phenomenon in the past 20 years with increasing evidence of improved outcomes when initiated for the right patient at the right time. This course will provide guidance on NIV management for COPD patients from AECOPD in hospital setting to chronic stable home setting, and NIV management for OHS & overlap syndrome. This course is also aimed to improve patient care and assist clinical teams for success.

About speaker
Prof Joao Carlos Winck
Prof Joao Winck is a consultant of the Northern Rehabilitation Centre, coordinator of the Respiratory Unit of Alfena-Valongo Hospital & Braga Centro Hospital, and an Affiliated Associate Professor, Porto University, Portugal. He is also the Chair of Noninvasive Ventilatory Support of the European Respiratory Society. He has been Speaker/chairman in 119 Medical Conferences (49 International), co-author of 162 presentations in scientific meetings (72 International). Co-author of 101 papers in peer reviewed international journals, 10 book chapters (5 International), winner of 13 Investigation awards.
